5. From an endpoint, do one of the following:
• Select a trunk and dial the number (of one of the other trunks) to call back into the
system. Put the call on hold to hear the music.
• Place an intercom call to another station. Put the call on hold to hear the music.
• Dial feature code 313. You should hear background music.
6. While listening to Music-On-Hold, adjust the volume on the music source to an
acceptable level.
Installing External Paging Equipment
Optional external paging equipment can be connected to the Page port on the back of the Mitel
CS-5200/5400/5600 Base Server. See Figure 5-67 for an example of this port location. Use a
paging amplifier that does not provide talk battery.
Using background music and paging on an IP endpoint, such as the IP PhonePlus, consumes
as much bandwidth as a call to the device. If the site has limited bandwidth, ensure that IP
endpoint users do not enable background music and that they limit using the paging
functionality.

the manufacturer instructions.
3. Connect the paging speaker(s) to the amplifier using speaker cable.
4. Plug in the amplifier AC power cord. do not use the outlet for the Inter-Tel 5000 Base
