Mitel CS-5600 Licensing with USB Security Key
A USB 2.0 port on the front of the PS-1 accepts the Mitel 5600 system security key. See Figure
5-28 on page 5-58. The security key holds the Mitel 5000 master license information. This
master license includes BVM configuration information and, when inserted, disables the BVM
license information on the Base Server. In this configuration, the Base Server does not need a
security key.
You must first connect an Mitel USB security key to the PS-1. The security key has a Mitel serial
number. The customer must then purchase an Mitel CS-5600 software license that corresponds
to the Mitel serial number. Once received, the software license can be uploaded to the PS-1
through DB Programming. For details, refer to the Mitel 5000 Features and Programming
Guide, part number 580.8006.
For details about changes to the software license, see “Licensing and Mitel CS-5600 Upgrades”
on page 3-16. For details about default database values for Mitel platform under each
configuration, refer to the Mitel 5000 Features and Programming Guide, part number 580.8006.
OPTIONAL SYSTEM EQUIPMENT
This section provides procedures for installing optional equipment on Mitel 5000 platforms.
Installing a CT Gateway
System OAI Level 2 applications can be used in conjunction with the CT Gateway. The CT
Gateway provides a TCP/IP System OAI interface that supports a multi-node network. Each
node in a network functions individually, as far as the System OAI streams are concerned; you
cannot program a System OAI serial port on Node 1 that will control devices or receive events
for other nodes. If you need to control devices on multiple nodes, you must install a CT
Gateway. The CT Gateway receives the OAI streams from multiple nodes and consolidates
them into a single stream for a System OAI application. The Gateway sends and receives all of
its data using TCP/IP connections. (At this time, each application requires a separate Gateway.)
For more information about the CT Gateway, see the CT Gateway Installation Manual, part
number 835.2161.
NOTE Mitel recommends that you upgrade the CT Gateway to version 4.x or later.
