To associate the Base Server and the PS-1 on the LAN:
1. Use the LCD panel menu to navigate to Network\Current\<IP Address> to see if the IP
address for the PS-1 has auto-converted to the correct values.
2. If the correct values do not appear, use the LCD panel menu to navigate to Network –
Configure – IP Address. Enter the Base Server static IP, subnet mask, and gateway IP
addresses and disable DHCP.
3. Under Main Menu on the LCD panel select System Menu, and then scroll down to
Gateway mode. Toggle the Gateway Mode setting from Disabled, to Enabled. Observe
the message, Waiting for PS-Server Connection on the LCD panel of the Base Server.
4. Power up the PS-1, if it is not already done. The PS-1 comes with the software pre-
installed. After the system has booted up, it performs a self-test. When the self-test
completes, the LCD panel on the Base Server displays Mitel 5000.
To configure the PS-1 on the LAN:
1. Attach a monitor, keyboard, and mouse or, if using a laptop PC, attach the specified
serial cable and null modem to the PS-1. For details see Figure 5-29 on page 5-58.
2. If attached with a laptop PC, start a hyperterm session and set the connection baud rate
at 115200. Then start a PuTTY
®
session. You will find a copy of PuTTY software on the
product CD. Read the Readme file and follow the PuTTY installation and user
instructions.
3. From the monitor and keyboard or PC attached to the PS-1, log on to the system using
the default username (it5k) and password (itpassw). The Diagnostics Management
Utility screen or window appears.
4. From the DMU main menu select Configuration. The Configuration screen appears.
5. From the Configuration screen:
a. Change Static IP Address for the PS-1
b. Change Static Subnet
c. Change Static IP Gateway
d. Disable DHCP
e. Reboot the system
NOTE
The PS-1 and Base Server must be connected to the network on the same
