21. Make sure the time zone is set correctly for the site where this system is physically
located.
a. From the DB Programming home screen (system-wide parameters), select the
current Time Zone value.
b. Scroll to the desired setting.
c. Click ENTER or select another field to save your change.
22. Do one of the following:
If you did not receive a prompt about the trunk gain changes, continue to step 23.
You will not receive a prompt if you never set trunk gains beyond the default
values.
If you did receive a prompt about the trunk gain changes, informing you all gains
for trunks have been defaulted:
a.) Run the Hybrid Balance test. Refer to the Mitel 5000 Features and
Programming Guide, part number 580.8006, for information.
b.) Run the Loop Loss test and measure loop loss. Refer to the Mitel 5000
Features and Programming Guide, part number 580.8006, for information.
You can view results in Message Print. Work with the Central Office (CO) to
get the number to measure the fixed diagnostics tone and for the expected
level (usually 0 dbm). You then need to set the Mitel 5000 system to this level.
If any future Loop Loss tests are outside this level, contact the CO.
c.) Continue to step 23.
If this is a new installation, run the Configuration Wizard and the Networking
Wizard from DB Programming. Refer to the Mitel 5000 Features and Programming
Guide, part number 580.8006, for details on the Networking Wizard. For
information on the Configuration Wizard screens, see page 6-69.
23. While in DB Programming, add several test users and endpoints, and make several
internal and external calls to verify the system is functional. Test the voice mail system
(BVM or external voice mail as applicable).
