Adjusting the Baseplate
The Professional, Associate, and Eclipse Basic endpoints have adjustable baseplates that allow
users to set the angle of the endpoint.
To change the baseplate position:
1. Gently press on one edge of the baseplate and lift it off of the endpoint.
2. If you have a PCDPM installed, route the cables so that they will be between the
baseplate and the bottom of the endpoint.
3. Position the baseplate over one of the three sets of holes and snap it into place. The
curved edge should be toward the top of the keyset.
Wall-Mounting Digital Display and Basic Digital Endpoints
To mount the endpoint on a wall, use an industry-standard wall-mount bracket (sometimes
called a wall jack assembly). If a wall-mount bracket is not available, use the two-screw method
outlined below:
1. Remove the endpoint baseplate from the top half of the back of the endpoint.
2. Rotate the baseplate 180
o
and attach it to the bottom half of the back of the endpoint. If
a PCDPM is already installed inside the baseplate, first open the endpoint and reroute
the PCDPM-to-keyset interface cable through the knockout in the bottom half of the
endpoint. See Figure 5-78 on page 5-213.
3. Using a ruler, mark the location of the endpoint mounting holes on the wall. The centers
of the two perpendicular mounting holes on the back of the endpoint are four inches
apart.
4. Drive a screw into the center of each mounting hole marking. Allow the head of the
screw to protrude approximately ¼ inch.
5. To hold the handset in place while the endpoint is wall-mounted, slide the reversible
cradle hook out, rotate it 180
o
, and reinsert it as shown below.
6. Position the endpoint mounting holes over the screws and slide the endpoint into
position on the wall. If necessary, adjust the screws to ensure the endpoint is held firmly
in place.
