Analog Fallback System [Europe Only]
The fallback kit, part number PS2728-A, contains the following items:
12 volt DC power supply (PS2736)
Fallback Control Module and Control Lead (J36)
Fallback Module 3-Circuit (J20)
Charcoal Line Cord (Standard) (C27)
An additional five fallback modules may also be connected if required.
The Power Supply Unit (PSU) is fitted with a 5-pin DIN plug which is then attached to connector
CH4 of the control module. The control module is supplied with a standard line cord that
connects it to the CPU relay socket. The power to each fallback module is jumpered as shown
in Figure 5-45.
Figure 5-45. Fallback Power and Control
To use dedicated fallback endpoints, the lines to the fallback unit should not be connected to the
LS ports on the chassis. Instead, they should be connected to the PSTN connections. The LS
ports should be jumpered to the COU connections of the module and the dedicated fallback
endpoint connected to the F/B connections. See Figure 5-46 on page 5-88. The dedicated
fallback endpoints must be signaling-compatible with the lines supplied.
To use system endpoints as fallback endpoints, two fallback circuits are required per line. The
lines and endpoints are not directly connected to the LS and SL ports on the chassis but they
are connected as shown in Figure 5-46 on page 5-88. The fallback endpoint must be totally
compatible with the system and the lines. Users should be made aware of any adjustments and
procedures necessary to place calls.
