Low-level Firmware Updates
The Mitel 5000 motherboard is equipped with low-level firmware that controls electrical signals
to the hardware devices such as compact flash-type memory cards, Universal Serial Bus (USB),
Digital Expansion Interfaces (DEIs), etc.
After flash memory updates, the system software detects if low-level firmware requires an
update. If an update is required, the following message appears on the LCD:
“Upgrade FPGA enter any key.”
Press any button next to the LCD panel to acknowledge the message, and start the update.
During the update process, the following messages are alternately appear on the LCD:
“Upgrading......FPGA.”
“Do not power off.”
The update requires approximately 30 seconds. Do not shut down, reboot, or power down
the server during the update process. After the update is complete, the system automatically
reboots.
When all of the flash memory and low-level firmware components have been updated, the LCD
displays the Mitel 5000 idle screen.
NOTE
When you perform a system upgrade using the AWS Web pages, low-level
firmware updates are completed automatically.
