Multi-Protocol Endpoints
The following multi-protocol endpoints support the multi-protocol (ITP) mode and restricted
functionality of the Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) mode:
• Model 8600 – No Display
• Model 8620/8622 – With 2-Line Display
• Model 8662 – With 6-Line Display
• Model 8690 – With Multimedia Touchscreen
Multi-functional endpoints operate differently when in SIP mode rather than ITP mode. For
details about the features available and how to program an endpoint to operate in SIP mode,
refer to the SIP Server Installation and Configuration Manual, part number 835.2605.
The software license regulates the number of multi-protocol endpoints that can be operated on
the system. Features supported on multi-protocol endpoints appear in Table 4-10 on page 4-43.
* Can be programmed as a feature, secondary extension, or DSS button.
IMPORTANT
To operate in SIP mode, SIP Server v1.1 is required.
