The controller uses some internal IP addresses in the range
169.254.10.0/15 to 169.254.30.0/15. Communication to the
3300 ICP using an IP address in these ranges will fail to get a
response.
Note: None of these reserved addresses can be used by
devices that need to communicate with the 3300 ICP (e.g.
MITEL Phones, E2TVirtual MiVoice Business). These
reserved IP address ranges can be used elsewhere in an IP
network (i.e. network not connected to the 3300 ICP).
“IP Address Restrictions” on page 285
Use of the internal TFTP server of the 3300 ICP is
recommended. This ensures that device downloads maintain
correct revision level with the appropriate controller following
any upgrades.
“DHCP and IP Phone network policy” on
page 235
In designing the network, consider the business migration
path as this may influence the type of network devices that are
initially bought and installed. How many additional users and
data devices may be needed? How should the network be
segregated?
