commercial servers, compression resources are provided in software by the Media Server
component (software blade). Compression licenses are available in increments of 8
sessions.
Fax over IP (T.38)
A T.38 license is required to allow an ICP to originate or terminate Faxes over IP or SIP
trunks from TDM ports. A field called ‘Fax over IP (T.38) licenses” can be found under
purchasable option. The Wizard will validate that the value input is a multiple of 4. Minimum
value: 0, maximum value: 64 (recommended maximum 48). Enter the number of licenses
purchased. Licenses can be purchased in groups of 4 up to a maximum of 64. A reboot is
required to enable new licenses. This option is only available on dedicated
MiVoice Business/3300 ICP hardware which can terminate FAX calls on TDM interfaces.
It is not applicable to servers which cannot connect to TDM ports.
HTML Applications license
Each license allows you assign HTML applications to a device using the User and Device
Configuration form in the System Administration Tool. Up to 5600 licenses are supported.
X-NET Networking license
In Release MCD 4.1 and earlier, an X-NET license is needed to enable a networking protocol
session over a TDM trunk. One license is required for each controller-to-controller
connection. As of Release MCD 5.0 this license is enabled by default in an “Enterprise”
system, and disabled for “Standalone”.
IP Networking license
In Release MCD 4.1 and earlier, an IP networking license is a system-wide license that
allows access to all IP trunks on the system. An IP networking license is needed for every
call that is handled between different controllers. As of Release MCD 5.0 this license is
enabled by default in an “Enterprise” system, and disabled for “Standalone”. For more
information on determining the number of licenses, see the section “Licensing Example”
on page 162.
Voice Mail networking license
In Release MCD 4.1 and earlier, a Voice Mail Networking license is needed to support
networked/clustered Embedded Voice Mail, NuPoint, and other VPIMv2 compliant voice
mail servers. As of Release MCD 5.0 this license is enabled by default in an “Enterprise
system, and disabled for “Standalone”.
Advanced Voice Mail license
In Release MCD 4.1 and earlier, an Advanced Voice Mail license is needed for each session
of more advanced features that use voice mail services, such as Record-a-Call, Auto
Forward to E-mail, and Personal Contacts. As of Release MCD 5.0 this license is enabled
by default in all systems.
Note: FAX over IP support requires the DSP II card. You can purchase and configure
licenses on the system before you install the required DSP II cards in the system.
However, an alarm will be raised after you reboot the system if required DSP II cards
are not installed.
