NOTE: If the switch is equipped with a T1/PRI module and it is programmed as T1 (RBS) the T1 channels are
shown as Line 1 – Line 24. Any equipped CO Lines are shown as Line 25- Line 28
NOTE: If the switch is equipped with a T1/PRI module programmed as PRI (ISDN) the full PRI access is
presented as “PRI” on the Line menu. Individual B channels cannot be programmed. Any additional CO Lines
are presented as Line 24 – Line 27
Restricting Extensions from Accessing Particular CO lines to make Calls
The default programming is that all extensions can select all lines to make calls. If required extensions can be
restricted from selecting some lines. This allows a switch to be set up allowing groups of extensions to select
different lines for their outgoing calls.
Outgoing Restriction when a Switch is Equipped with CO Lines Only
This feature lets you decide which lines each extension can access for outgoing calls. By default, all extensions
have access to all lines.
1. From the programming extension, press the PROGRAM key.
2. Press the Scroll Down key () until “System Programming” is displayed.
3. Select “System Programming”.
4. Enter the System Programming Password and select “Lines”.
5. Press the Scroll Down key () until “Outgoing Restriction” is displayed.
6. Select “Outgoing Restriction”.
7. All the equipped lines are displayed.
8. Select the line.
9. Select the extensions to be prevented from accessing that line. A “” is displayed alongside those
extensions that are restricted from accessing the line, and a “” is displayed alongside those extensions that
have access to the line.
Outgoing Restriction when a Switch is Equipped with a T1/PRI module programmed as PRI (ISDN)
If the Mitel 3000 system is programmed with a PRI interface only, option "Outgoing Restriction" is not presented
on the Line programming Menu.
If the switch is equipped with one or two CO line modules the equipped lines are presented as Line 24 – Line 27
and programmed as above.
Outgoing Restriction when a Switch is Equipped with a T1/PRI module programmed as T1 (RBS)
“Outgoing Restriction” is programmed as follows when the switch is equipped with T1 (RBS) lines: -
1. From the Programming extension, press the PROGRAM key.
2. Press the Scroll Down key () until “System Programming” is displayed.
3. Select “System Programming”.
4. Enter the System Programming Password and select “Lines”.
5. Press the Scroll Down key () until “Outgoing Restriction” is displayed.
6. Select “Outgoing Restriction” option.
7. The menu updates to show all equipped T1 lines (Line 1 - Line 24) and any CO lines equipped (Line 25 -
Line 28) and any VoIP trunks.
8. Select the required line.
9. The extension menu is displayed.
10. Select the extensions to be restricted from selecting the line for outgoing calls.
The default setting is that no restriction is applied.
NOTE: Any T1 lines programmed as DID are not shown when the lines are displayed. DID channels are
incoming only and cannot be selected to make calls.
