STEP 3:
- Locate the Female Outdrive and insert the T-
Nut into the Bore as shown. Be sure to Align the
flats and press the T-Nut firmly into position.
- Apply a small amount of "Clear" Silicone
Grease to the face of the Female Outdrive as
shown and install the Diff Ring.
Note
:
* The "Clear" Silicone Grease is used on the
3/32" Balls, Rings, & inner face of Outdrives
Only. Silicone is slightly abrasive helping the diff
to run smooth and not slip during use. Apply a
generous amount to ensure all the 3/32" Balls
are coated well! This will also help hold the Diff
Ring in place during assembly.
- Apply a generous amount of "Clear" Silicone
Grease to the top side of the Diff Ring and slide
the Diff Gear into position. Silicone grease
should squish out of the Diff Ball holes.
- Insert the fifteen 3/32" Diff Balls into the holes
of the Diff Gear and set the Assembly aside.
STEP 4:
- Locate the Male Outdrive assembly. Apply a small amount of
"Clear" Silicone Grease to the face of the Outdrive and slide
the Diff Ring into position.
- Apply a generous amount of "Clear" Silicone Grease to the
top side of the Diff Ring.
- Insert a 1.5mm Hex Wrench into the Male Outdrive assembly
as shown.
- Holding the Output of the Female Outdrive, thread the Diff
Screw into the T-Nut. Keep pressure on the Diff Screw as you
thread it into the Female assembly (Pressure is used to hold T-
Nut in a seated position).
- As you tighten the Diff Screw the into the T-Nut, work the Diff
back and forth.
Pay close attention when the Diff Spring
bottoms out! Do Not Over tighten the Screw!
- When the Diff Spring is completely compressed, loosen the
Diff Screw 1/8 of a turn. The diff should now operate smooth
and turn in opposite directions.
- To check the diff adjustment put a wrench into the holes of
both outputs. While holding both wrenches, with one hand, try
to turn the diff gear with the other hand. If the Diff Gear "Slips"
you will need to tighten the Diff Screw. Always adjust the diff in
1/8 turn increments.
Note
:
* For the first few runs Always check your Diff to make
sure its not too loose!
*If you notice the Diff. rubbing on the bottom of
Transmission case it will be necessary to grind or remove
a little material from the bottom.
*Re-Check your Diff setting and make adjustments as
needed. NEVER ALLOW YOUR DIFF TO SLIP! THIS WILL
RESULT IN DAMAGE!
