SNMP-SSL

SNMPv3 USM Table

This menu allows the administrator to configure the SNMP-SSL card for the SNMPv3

USM (User Security Model). SNMPv3 USM provides confidentiality and integrity for

network management communications. SNMPv3 USM also allows for user-based

authentication and access control. Rather than using the two-level “read” and “write”

community strings of prior SNMP implementations, administrators can create specific

accounts for each SNMP user and grant privileges through those users accounts.

1. Index: The index number of the entry in the table.

2. User Name: This field allows the administrator to set the specific user name who will

have access to the SNMP-SSL card via SNMPv3.

3. Auth Password: This field allows the administrator to set the authentication

password of the associated user.

4. Priv Password: This field allows the administrator to set the privacy password of the

associated user.

5. Security Level: This field allows the administrator to set the access type for the

associated user. The available options are:

a. NoAuthNoPriv: Access with no authentication and no privacy passwords.

b. authNoPriv: Access with authentication password but no privacy password.

c. authPriv: Access with no authentication password but with privacy password.

6. Authentication: This field allows the administrator to set the authentication format,

HMAC-MD5 or HMAC-SHA.

7. User Status: This field shows the status of the associated user.
