Flash mode Description
[ Blank] Automatic Flash
The flash fires automatically to suit the photographic conditions.
This mode is only available when the camera is set to the [
], [P], [ ] and
[ ] mode.
[ ] Red-eye Reduction
Use this mode to reduce the red-eye phenomenon when you want to
capture natural- looking images of people and animals in low-light conditions.
When the camera mode is [
], [P] and [M], the flash will fire to suit the
brightness of the subject.
When the camera mode is [Tv] and [Av], the flash will always fire.

] Pre-Flash
The “Pre-flash” mode allows you to brighten the subject prior to taken the
final picture and firing the flash.
] Flash Off
Use this mode when capturing images using indoor lighting, for stages and
[ indoor competitions, and when the subject is too far away for the flash to be
effective.

] Forced Flash
In this mode, the flash always fires. Use this mode for photographing under
artificial light such as backlighting, fluorescent lighting, etc.
