POWER
The
Flash Meter lV
is
powered
by a single AA-size
battery
that
fits
into
battery
chamber A. A
1.5v
alkaline-manganese
or
carbon-zinc
or 1.2v
nickel-
cadmium
battery can
be
used.
The
F lash Meter lV's
inf
rared
transmitter is
powered
by a separate
battery
that
fits into
battery
chamber
B. When
using the
optional lR
Receiver-
Trigger
or Data
Receiver
DR-1000,
a 6v alkaline-
manganese
(4LR44,
Eveready
537
or equiv.)
or 6.2v
silver-oxide
(4SR44,
Eveready 544
or
equiv.) battery
should
be installed
in battery
chamber
B.

nstall ing battery
(ies)

Remove
battery cover
by
sliding
it in
the
direction
i nd i cated.
Insert
battery(ies)
into
appropriate
chamber(s)
with
plus
(+)
and
minus
(-)
ends
as shown in the
battery chamber.
(The
meter will not operate
unless
the
battery
is installed
correctly.)
Realign
battery
cover and
slide
it
towards the
meter
until it snaps
into
place.

Autonratic
battery check
Even
with
power
supplied continuously
to
the
meter's
memory, the
meter's
power
consumption
is
minimal.
To
further conserve
power,
the Flash Meter
lV
employs
an automatic
cancelling
feature
that
clears
the
display approximately
4 minutes
after
taking
a
reading
or
pressing
a
key. When
the
display
is
off
,
the
meter can be activated
by
pressing
the
on/recall
button. The
last display
will
then
appear
on
the LCD
panel.
As
battery
power
decreases,
the
LCD
display
will
blink
when
taking
a
measurement. lf
this
occurs,
install a
new battery.
When
the battery is
completely
exhausted,
the
LCD
display will remain blank
even
after
pressing.the
on/recall
button.
