EXPOSURE CALCULATIONS
FOR REFLEfrTED-LIGHT
MEASUREMENTS
1. Averaging
method
After
entering two
measurements into the
memory,
press
the average
key. The average
of
the two
meas-
urements
will
be displayed by the
pointer
on the scale
and by the
digital readout.
This
method
of measure-
ment is
most useful
for
scenes
that
contain a
variety
of
middle-grey tones.
To use:
1.
Measure
a
bright
highlight
area
and
memorized
the
measurement.
Then,
measure a
dark shadow area
and
memorized this
reading.

When the averaging
key is
pressed,
the
letter
"A"
and
the
averaged
value will
be
displayed'
When the
f-number
scale
is
displayed,
one
pointer
will
indicate the
displayed
(averaged)
value
and
the
other
pointer
will indicate a
mernorized
value.
When contrast scale
is displayed,
the
"0" position
indicates
the averaged
exposure
value,
and
the
pointer{s)
indicate the
memorized
values.

most important
area
in a scene
is
a
bright
highlight
area,
exposure should
be based
on this area.

Measure an area
that
you
want to
appear
as the
highlight on the
f ilm and
enter the
reading into the
memory.

highlight
key
is
pressed,
the

"H"
and
the highlight
value will be displayed.
When the
f-number scale is
displayed,
one
pointer
will indicate the
displayed
(highlight)
value
and
the
other
pointer
will indicate
a
memorlzed
value.
When contrast
scale
is
displayed, the
"0"
position
indicates the
highlight
exposure
value,
and
the
pointer(s)
indicate
the
memorized
values.
When
an
exposure is
made
based on
the
above
measurement,
the
measured area
will be exposed
as a
highlight on the
f
ilm.
