Shadow calculations (for reflected-light readings
only)
When you want to reproduce some detail in the darkest areas of a
composition (shadow areas) without blocking them out, take a reflected-
light reading of the shadow area and use the meter's shadow exposure
calculation function to determine the appropriate exposure for the shot.
1
Take a reading of the
shadow area of the
subject.
2
Use the up/down key
while pressing the S/A/H
button to set the meter to
“S” mode.
Unless an accessory for
reflected-light readings
(Viewfinder5°, reflected-light
attachment II) is attached, it is
not possible to set the meter to
“S” mode.
Display example
● When you press the S/A/H button, the average value of the two memory
values is displayed on the digital readout, and both the memory values
and the average value will be displayed on the analog scale for FNo. If
you press the S/A/H button again, the values will be erased from the
display.
