11-5. Original Size Detection
Original Size Detecting Board UN2 reads the output data provided by the
original size detecting sensors. By comparing the data from each sensor
with the threshold level, it determines whether there is an original placed
on the Original Glass. UN2 then determines the size of the original
according to the combination of the comparison results.
The threshold level is set so that UN2 can determine whether there is an
original or not by compensating for part-to-part variations and variations in
the installed positions of the sensors. This procedure is performed by the
F7 operation.
