2 UNIT EXPLANATION
[4] Exposure control
L1 (exposure lamp) is driven by the L1 INVB (L1
inverter) and is controlled by the PRCB (printer control
board) via the SCDB (scanner drive board).
1. Operation
L1 is a xenon lamp driven by the inverter circuit.
The xenon lamp can emit a constant quantity of
light and generates less heat than other lamps,
requiring neither light quantity controller circuit
nor thermal protector circuit that have been used
in the conventional machines. However, since L1
is held lit when the exposure unit is nonopera-
tional in the DF mode, a FM7 (scanner cooling)
is installed in the read section.
