11.4 Printer messages
Indicator functions
The control panel has two indicators
and one button. The control panel in-
dicators provide information on the
status of the printer.
The indicators have five types of sig-
nals:
G Off
G On
G Slow blinking—1 blink every 2 seconds
G Blinking—1 blink per second
G Rapid blinking—2 blinks per second
White or black lines
The toner cartridge is damaged
(white lines).
The drum cartridge is damaged
(black lines).
Remove the toner cartridge/
drum cartridge and check it for
damage.
If necessary, replace the toner
cartridge/drum cartridge.
Toner smudges
The toner cartridge is damaged. Remove the toner cartridge and
check it for damage. If
necessary, replace the toner
cartridge. (See chapter 10.)
The toner may be unevenly
distributed inside the toner
cartridge.
Remove the toner cartridge and
rock it in order to improve the
distribution of the remaining
toner. If the problem persists,
replace the toner cartridge. (See
chapter 10.)
The paper feed roller is dirty. Clean the paper feed roller. (See
chapter 10.)
