Informationen zum Vorbild Um mit den neu erwachsenden Konkurrenten in der Luft mithalten zu können, plante die Deutsche Reichsbahn in den 30-er Jahren des letzten Jahrhunderts schnelle und komfortable Direktverbindungen zwischen wichtigen deutschen Städten. Da die Dampftraktion dazu nicht geeignet schien, wurde bei der Wumag ein Diesel-Doppeltriebzug für die Strecke Berlin-Hamburg bestellt.

Comme la traction à vapeur ne semblait pas convenir, une rame automotrice double diesel fut commandée à la firme Wumag pour la desserte de la ligne Berlin-Hambourg.
