7. Pre-installation guidelines

• Switch off all computers, and Smart units

• Place cables away from fluorescent lights, air

conditioners, and machines that are likely to generate

electrical noise.

• Ensure that the distances between the computers and

the Smart, and between the KVM console and the

Smart, do not exceed 4.5m/14.8ft.

8. Connecting the Smart system

Connect the Smart system using CPU Adapter cables.

Figure 5 illustrates the Smart system connections.
