Engine oil
Engine oil consumption depends on driving style
and the operating conditions.
Check the engine oil level regularly, for example
when refuelling.
Checking the engine oil level
1. Park the vehicle on a level surface with the
engine at operating temperature, i.e. after
driving continuously for at least 10 km,
approx. 6 miles.
2. Switch off the engine.
3. After about 5 minutes pull out the dipstick
and wipe it dry with a non-linting cloth,
paper towel or similar.
4. Carefully push the dipstick fully into its tube,
then pull it out again.
The oil level must be between the two marks
on the dipstick.
The oil quantity corresponding to the distance
between the two markings on the dipstick is
approx. 1 litre, approx. 2 pints, for the petrol
