This mid size version of the Su-26 is designed to
have a wide appeal to many modellers. It has been
designed to be practical in size, easy to transport
and be able to utilise the popular 33-36cc petrol
engines on the market today. It’s an ideal choice for
the O.S. GT-33.
Like all the latest Black Horse models, and especially
the other Su-26 derivatives, this version is jig assembled
by skilled workers in the Black Horse factory using
special jigs. When assembled, an equal amount of
skill is used to apply the stunning colour scheme
in durable Oracover film. Oracover is widely
regarded as the best heat shrink film on the
market and a therefore a natural choice for
Black Horse.
Yet again, that big GRP cowl will
completely hide most of the engine
and silencer, leaving the scale outline
undisturbed and reducing the sound a little.
Removing the wings to transport her makes the combination of
size and practicality almost unbeatable. Even a pilot with some
limited low wing experience could master this one pretty quick.
This is the biggest version of the Su-26 in the Black horse range
and you get a lot of model for your money. The main construction
is from laser-cut balsa and ply parts. Each has been optimised to
give the correct combination of strength an low weight. Black Horse
engineers use the very latest CAD techniques to do this combined
with clever jigs and some unique wood shaping methods. The net
result is a strong model that has predictable flight performance and
exceptional agility. Pretty much like the full size!!
That huge cowling is exquisitely moulded in GRP using epoxy resin
to have great durability without the need for huge weight from inferior
moulding techniques. Just look at how scale all
the scale features are there. Most engines and
silencers are fully swallowed inside to keep the
outside looking just like a scale model should.

The wings come off for easy transportation but the fuselage is
still a pretty bulky item, so you will need a reasonable estate
car to move the Su26M 55cc about.
Bolt on a powerful 50-55cc engine like the OS GT-55 and you
can explore that performance envelope to the limit.
