1. Installation/Warranty
We recommend that you take the DI-MOD USB to an
authorized MindPrint
®
dealer for installation. Otherwise
you will render the warranty null and void. MindPrint
®
is not liable for any damages caused by improper
installation nor do we extend any warranty to cover this
type of damage. This applies to the DI-MOD USB itself
as well as to the device in which you intend to install
the DI-MOD USB.
• Switch off the MindPrint
®
device to which you want
to install the DI-Mod and pull the mains plug.
• Remove the cover of the installation slot on the
device’s rear panel.
• Undo the screws on the top panel of the device and
remove the lid.
• Insert the DI-MOD USB into the installation slot along
with the enclosed panel and fasten it to the rear panel
of your MindPrint
®
device using the cover screws.
• Locate the pin header labeled "Plug2” on the main
circuit board of the device to which you want to
install the DI-Mod and plug the connector of the
DI-MOD USB’s ribbon cable into it.
• Replace the cover and fasten it back down.
NOTE:
The installation procedure for the DI-MOD USB
is the same as for the DI-MOD 24/48 and
DI-MOD 24/96, and it fits in all MindPrint
®
devices offering a DI-MOD upgrade option.
2. Connections and Control
Features
2.1 USB
The USB connection serves to transfer audio data
directly to computers in USB1 format. Please use a
standard USB cable to do this. Audio data may be
recorded and played back via USB. The DI-MOD USB
transmits 16- or 24-bit data at up to 96kHz, whereby
you can determine resolution and sampling frequency
using drivers.
CAUTION:
Performance may suffer when running other
devices with high data throughput, for example,
printers or scanners, at the same time and on
the same USB port as the DI-MOD USB. We
recommend that you refrain from doing this.
2.2 S/PDIF OUT:
Both channels of the A-to-D converted input signal or
the USB signal sent from the computer are routed to
this port in S/PDIF format. You can determine in the
driver menu which purpose the S/PDIF Out serves.
This additional output lets you run the DI-MOD USB
in standalone mode without computers (to connect
to DAT recorders and the like) or as an USB-to-S/PDIF
converter (for example, to route USB data thru to
digital mixers).
2.3 SYNC LED:
This LED lights up as soon as the module is connected
properly to the USB port and is detected by the driver.
