Adjust the angle using the following pro-
cedure.
The a column and b column patterns are
printed alternatingly at a pitch of
approximately 100 mm as shown in the
figure on the right. The a column and b
column can be identified by the magenta
and cyan strips (indicates by the thick
red arrows in the diagram) printed over
the respective patterns at the top of head
1. These indicate that magenta = a col-
umn and cyan = b column.
1. Check the inclination of each column.
For the b column, the relationship
between the points of impact and the
inclination of the head is as shown in the
diagram on the right.
For the a column, the pattern is reversed.
2. Perform an averaging adjustment.
The standard colors for each column is a
column = M, b column = c.
Move the adjustment lever and adjust the
inclination.
In the diagram on the right, the b column
is aligned but the a column is misaligned.
In this case, adjust such that b becomes
slightly misaligned and the degree of
scattering of a and b becomes equal. (=
intermediate adjustment)
