Cleaning and maintenance
Do not use any oil or grease on the door seals.
They can cause the seals to deteriorate over time.
Never use a steam cleaner to clean the appliance.
The steam can reach the electrical components and cause a short
circuit.
Sharp edged or pointed objects will damage the evaporator,
causing irreversible damage to the appliance. Do not use sharp
edged or pointed objects to
– remove frost or ice,
– separate frozen foods or remove ice trays.
Never place electric heaters or candles in the appliance to defrost
it. These can damage the plastic parts.
Do not use defrosting sprays or de-icers, as they could contain
substances which could damage the plastic parts or which might
cause the build-up of gases and pose a danger to health.
Rinse the ice cube maker and the water supply line:
– before using for the first time,
– if the ice cube maker hasn't been used for a long time,
– regularly (at least once a month) if the ice cube maker is
constantly on to remove residual ice (and prevent the water
supply line from becoming blocked), and
– before switching the ice cube maker off for a long time.
