Safety switch-off
Sensor controls are covered
Your SmartLine element will turn off
automatically if one or several of the
sensor controls remain covered for
longer than 10 seconds, for example,
by finger contact, food boiling over or
by an object such as an oven glove or
tea towel. flashes briefly above the
sensor control and a tone will sound.
If you remove the obstruction and/or
clean the appliance, goes out and the
SmartLine element is ready for use
again.
Excessive operating time
The safety shut-off is triggered auto-
matically if a heating element is heated
for an unusually long period of time.
This time depends on the power level
selected. If it has been exceeded, the
heating element turns off and the resid-
ual heat indicator appears. The Smart-
Line element can now be used again as
normal.
The SmartLine element is pro-
grammed to safety setting 0 at the
factory. If required you can set a
higher safety setting with a shorter
maximum operating time (see chart).
