Safety switch-off
Sensor controls are covered
Your SmartLine element will turn off
automatically if one or several of the
sensor controls remain covered for
longer than 10 seconds, for example,
by finger contact, food boiling over or
by an object such as an oven glove or
tea towel. flashes briefly above the
sensor control and a tone will sound.
If you remove the obstruction and/or
clean the appliance, goes out and the
SmartLine element is ready for use
again.
Excessive operating time
The safety switch-off mechanism is
triggered automatically if a cooking
zone is heated for an unusually long
period of time. This time depends on
the power level selected. If it has been
exceeded, the cooking zone switches
off and the residual heat indicator ap-
pears. If you switch the cooking zone
on and off again, it is ready for opera-
tion again.
The hob is programmed to safety set-
ting 0 at the factory. If necessary, a
higher safety setting with a shorter
maximum operating time can be set
(see chart).
