Packing the Trays
AllitemsmustbeprocessedinaccordancewithCentersforDiseaseControlandPrevention(CDC),
“GuidelinesforInfectionControlinDentalHealthcareSettings”-2003,MMWR;52(no.RR-17),and
“GuidelinesforDisinfectionandSterilizationinHealthcareFacilities”-2008,whichstates:
“Itemstobesterilizedshouldbearrangedtopermitfreecirculationofthesterilizingagent(e.g.,
steam,chemicalvapor,ordryheat);manufacturer’sinstructionsforloadingthesterilizershouldbe
followed.”
•Allitemstobesterilizedshouldbearrangedtopermitfreecirculationofthesteam.
•AllitemsmusttinM9/M11tray.
•Loadedtraymustslideintochamberopeningwithoutscraping.
•Instrumentsmustnottouchoneanother.
•Pouchesmayoverlapslightly,butitemsmustnotbelayered.
Equipment Alert
Do not use towels or packaging containing chlorine bleach residue. Failure to comply may
cause rusting or discoloration of the chamber / trays, and significantly shorten the life of the
sterilizer.
Trays must be used at all times when operating this sterilizer - unless the optional cassette rack kit is
used - otherwise, serious equipment damage could result.
