Perform Pressure Relief Valve Check
(a) Press UNWRAPPED
(b) Press START
(c) Wait until pressure in chamber reaches 20 PSI (138 kPa).
Display:
Pull upward on the pressure relief
lever (A) for approximately 3 sec-
onds. Steam should discharge
freely from beneath rear of unit.
(a) Release lever (B). Valve should
close, stopping release of steam.
(b) Press STOP button to abort the cycle, preventing unit from over-
heating.
(c) If excessive force is required to open pressure relief valve or pressure
relief valve will not reseat properly, the pressure relief valve must be
replaced (See Calling For Service later in this manual).
NOTE
Pressure Relief Valve must be checked each month to assure it functions properly.
CAUTION
During the pressure relief valve check, steam will be vented from un-
der the sterilizer. To keep from being burned, place a steam barrier
(a rolled up towel) around the bottom of the sterilizer.
NOTE
If pressure relief valve does not close com-
pletely when lever is released, pull upward
on lever again and release it quickly so
valve snaps back into position. Do this until
valve seats properly.
