browser on a local PC connected directly to the transceiver’s
LAN port or associated network.

Upgrading the
Transceiver
Firmware
To install firmware by TFTP, the user will need:
• A PC with a TFTP server running. (A TFTP Server is available
for download from the MDS website—see below.)
• The IP address of the PC running the TFTP server.
If you do not know your computer’s IP address (Windows PC), you can
use the
RUN function from the Start menu and enter winipcfg or ipconfig to
determine this information. The IP address of the radio can be found
under the
Network Configuration menu. (See “Network Configuration
Menu” on Page 34.)

There are several options for connecting the transceiver and computer
control point to the firmware server. Figure 3-40 and Figure 3-41 show
two variations.With either method, it is essential that all of the equip-
ment be on the same subnet.
