F. Gaussian Blur: The Gaussian Blur is used to defocus an area of the image
where significant color transitions occur or where noise exists, and the filter
produces a hazy effect. "Gaussian" refers to the bell-shaped curve that is
generated when this filter adjusts the color values of the affected pixels. The
dialog box below appears when you choose Gaussian Blur from the Filters menu.
This parameter specifies the
degree of the filter's effect.
The higher the value, the
stronger the blurring effect of
the filter
This parameter allows you to
specify a tolerance range or a
field of contrast between
adjacent pixels before blurring
is applied. Blurring is applied
only when pixel differences are
below the Threshold value. The
smaller the Threshold value,
the weaker the blurring effect
This parameter determines the
depth of the surrounding pixels that
will be affected. The larger the mask
size, the stronger the blurring effect
of the filter
