Explanation
• Necessity of Upgrading QSS 32 and 33 Series
• When building machines, the S2 of the QSS-32 can be attached to the QSS-33 or the S2 of the
QSS-33 can be attached to the QSS-32 after the final test on the S2 for the QSS-32 and 33.(Refer
to the illustration above)
• Due to the reason above, it is necessary to upgrade the QSS-32 and/or 33 with the enclosed CD
when the service personnel installs them.
• Following is an example of the problem caused by non-upgrading of the machine during the
installation.
• The Example of the Problem: The system error No.6429-4001 (AFC/Scanner Control PCB)
occurred when attaching the MMC-2 after the installation of the QSS-33. Service Personnel
replaced the Scanner Control PCB to solve the problem.
• Cause of the Problem: Versions of the D-ICE Control PCB in the QSS-33 and the Scanner
Control PCB in the S2 did not match.
• Details: The prescanning magnification of the MMC-2 was at 0.879-fold when installing the
system program of the QSS-32 on the AFC/Scanner Control PCB of the S2.The prescanning
magnification of the MMC-2 was at 0.720-fold when installing the QSS-33 system on the D-ICE
Control PCB of the QSS-33.
Although the AFC/Scanner Control PCB ordered the D-ICE Control PCB to set its magnification
for the prescanning at a 0.879-fold, the D-ICE failed to adjust to it because the prescanning
magnification of the MMC-2 was not at a 0.720-fold. This was why the error No.6429-4001
