Adjusting the EV Compensation
EV Compensation is required when there is a large
discrepancy in brightness between the subject and
background. Use the EV setting to improve the relative
brightness of the subject in focus with its surroundings.
For example, when the subject is backlit or is situated in
snow/beach-type surroundings, the exposure may not
be correct. Choose a positive EV setting to brighten the
entire image and to make the subject brighter.
EV adjustments are made from -2.0 to +2.0 in 0.5-
step increments.
1. In the Photo mode (
), press the MENU button.
2. Use the 4-way arrow button
to select
EV
Compensation, then select a
desired EV value for your
need.
3. Press the MENU button twice
to exit the mode menu.
A selected EV setting icon appears on the LCD screen.
You are now ready to shoot.
