Getting Ready A. Loading the Battery (4 AAA size batteries, Alkaline recommended) 1 Unlock the battery compartment cover by sliding its lock toward "OPEN" position. BATTERY compartment 2 Slide compartment cover outward (as indicated by the arrow shown on top of the cover) and open the cover.
B.Basic Picture Taking Operation NOTE: The camera is designed without a power switch. It uses energy-saving or "sleep" mode to control its power. If the camera is off, press the Function Mode button to turn the camera back on. 1 With the camera strap looped around your wrist, hold the camera by its grip. Look through the viewfinder and set up your picture. Adjust size of your composition by increasing or decreasing distance between camera and subject but not nearer than one meter.
Other Modes of Operation A. 80 Shots Mode This mode of operation allows you to take 80 shots of lower-resolution images in QCIF (176 x 144) format. To set your camera into 80 Shot mode1 Repeatedly press the Function Mode button until the "Lr Lr Lr" icon is displayed on the LCD Display Panel. 80 2 Press the Shutter button and the "Lr Lr Lr" icon becomes "80 80" which would indicate that the 80 Shot mode is ready.
B. 20 Shots Mode This mode of operation allows you to take 20 shots of images at higher resolution CIF (352 x 288) format. The camera default to this mode. To set your camera back to 20 Shot mode after operating in 80 shots modeHr 1 Repeatedly press the Function Mode button until the "Hr Hr" icon is displayed on the LCD Display Panel. Hr 20 20" which would indicate 2 Press the Shutter button and the "Hr Hr" icon becomes "20 that the 20 Shot mode is ready.
C. Continuous Shooting Mode Continuous Shooting mode is ON when this LCD Panel displays the "CL" icon This mode of operation allows you to take multiple frames of images when holding down the Shutter button while aiming at your subject. A maximum of 20 or 80 shots can be taken depending on which shooting mode you are in. Continuous shooting under 20 Shots mode takes about 1.5 seconds to fully consume the 20 frames, while it takes about 6.5 seconds under 80 Shots mode.
D. Self-Timer Mode The Self-Timer mode of operation allows a 10 seconds shutter release delay after pressing the Shutter button. Mount the camera in a tripod when operating under Self-Timer mode. 1 Set camera into Self-Timer mode by repeatedly pressing the Function Mode select button until the " SL " icon is displayed on the LCD Display Panel. 2 Then press the Shutter to start the 10 second countdown.
Erasing All Images from Camera Whenever you wish to discard the images you have already taken, you can erase them from the camera. Take note that this erase feature functions only as "All-FrameErase." No partial erasure is allowed. 1 Enable the "All-Frame-Erase" feature by repeatedly pressing the Function Mode select button until the " CL" icon is displayed on the LCD Display Panel. 2 Press the Shutter button twice to start erasing all images in the camera.
Connecting the Camera to PC NOTE: It is assumed that you have already installed the bundled software into your computer. If not, install software as instructed in the section on "Utility Software Installation" of this manual. To transfer (download) the images data from the camera to your PC, connect the camera to your PC with the supplied USB cable. 1 Insert the smaller terminal of the USB cable into the camera's USB port. 2 Plug the other end of the USB cable into the USB port of your computer.
Utility Software Installation The Utility CD that accompanies your camera contains the Camera Driver bundled with the EyeStar Mail Microtek Edition Edition. The following image-editing software can be found on the separate Microtek Scanner CD: Installing PC Camera Driver and • Ulead PhotoExplorer 6 EyeStar Mail • Ulead PhotoImpact 5 1 Insert the utility CD into the CD-ROM • Trellix Web Microtek Edition drive and watch the Installer screen automatically appears on screen.
Using the MN100 as a Digital Camera Make sure to connect one end of the USB cable to your PC PC, and the other end to your MN100’s USB port before downloading images. The MN100 Digital Camera User Interface will be launched, when you start to download images from your digital camera to an image-editing software. Acquire Double-click the image that you wish to send and process to an image-editing software, and then select and click the Acquire button.
Installation Under Windows 98PC Downloading Images to your Using Ulead PhotoImpact 5 1 Open PhotoImpact by doing the following in succession: Start button, then Programs -- PhotoImpact PhotoImpact. 2 From the Menu Bar, select File File, select Digital Camera Camera, and then choose MN100 Digital Camera from the resulting menu. 3 The Acquire dialog box appears. Select Click to begin acquiring using default “Click settings settings.” 4 The MN100 Digital Camera interface appears.
Using Ulead PhotoExplorer 6 1 Open PhotoExplorer by doing the following in succession: Start Start, Pr ograms -- PhotoExplor er Programs PhotoExplorer er. 2 From the Menu Bar, select File File, Source Source, and then choose MN100 from the Select Source dialog box. 3 From the File menu, choose TWAIN Acquire Acquire, then click Acquire now to start acquiring images from your camera. 4 The MN100 Digital Camera interface appears. Double-click the image(s) you wish to transfer to PhotoExplorer from the panel.
Using Trellix Web Microtek Edition 1 Open Trellix Web by doing the following in succession: Start button, Pr ograms -- T eb Programs Trrellix W Web eb. eb dialog box 2 The Star Startt Using T Trrellix W Web appears; select your preferred option for your web page from the options box, OK, and then follow the click OK instructions on your screen.
Using MN100 as a Web Cam The EyeStar Mail is required only when the camera is used as a web camera. EyeStar Mail is a complete consumer video package for recording audio and video clips that you can send to your family and friends. This package includes all the software you will need for capturing, creating personalized cards, and sending messages on-line. A.

Send a Video Mail 1 Launch your EyeStar Mail Mail, and adjust your camera to the desired view that you want to capture. 2 Click Record to start capturing video and audio data. 3 Click Stop to end recording 4 Click Send Mai Mail to run the Send Mail program with the captured data to automatically attach the video image to your E-mail message. For a more detailed operation and information on EyeStar Mail Mail, please refer to the .pdf manual on the CD bundled with your digital camera.
