Connecting Hardware
To connect your Xbox console directly to broadband, see diagram A.
To share your broadband connection with a PC, see diagram B.

A. Direct Connection
You can connect the Ethernet cable provided with your Cable or DSL modem directly
to the Ethernet port on the back of the Xbox console. Some conguration of the
Xbox Network Settings may be required (see Conguring Xbox Network Settings
on page 6).
Connect the Ethernet port on the Cable/DSL modem to the WAN or Uplink
port on the Cable/DSL router.
Connect the PC to one of the available Ethernet LAN ports on the
Cable/DSL router.
Connect the Ethernet port on the back of the Xbox console to one of the
available Ethernet LAN ports on the Cable/DSL router.
Note: Some Cable modems, DSL modems, and broadband devices may require a
network hub instead of a Cable/DSL router. You may still diagram B.
B. Shared Connection
A Cable/DSL router allows both the Xbox console and PC to connect to your Cable
modem, DSL modem, or other broadband device at the same time.
