Gepe_UG_en.fm Page 7 Thursday, February 10, 2005 11:46 AM Overview ■ What are RFID and NFC? RFID RFID technologies use radio waves to automatically identify individual objects. The most common method of identifying objects using RFID is to store a serial number that identifies the object on an RFID tag, and attach the tag to the object. The RFID tag is able to transmit the information it contains to an RFID reader device.
