Manage phone security
Set your security level
1 At the Start screen, press Menu 4-7-3 (Settings - Security settings
- Security level).
2 After a brief pause, you’re prompted to enter the security code. The
default code is 12345. Enter the security code and press OK.
3 Scroll to Off, Memory, or Phone and press OK.
FIXED DIALING
Fixed dialing allows you to define which numbers require PIN2 entry
before they can be dialed. Fixed dialing must be supported by your
wireless provider.
Note: Even with fixed dialing set to On, it may still be possible to
call emergency numbers such as 911.
Set up a fixed dialing list
1 At the Start screen, press Menu 4-7-2-1 (Settings - Security
Settings - Fixed dialing - On).
2 After a brief pause, you’re prompted to enter the PIN2 code. Enter the
PIN2 code and press OK.
3 Enter a number that you wish to restrict access, or press Find and
retrieve a number from your Phone book. Press OK.
ACCESS CODES
Use access codes to change your security code, PIN code, and PIN2 code.
Note: Avoid using codes similar to emergency numbers such as
911 to prevent accidental dialing of the emergency number.
The security code
The security code controls access to features such as the security level and
is supplied with the phone. The preset code is 12345.
