Wireless communication interface “Bluetooth
®
Audio”
The music stored in your cell phone can be played back over the vehicle radio or radio-navi-
gation system using the wireless communication“Bluetooth
®
Audio” interface.
In order to use “Bluetooth
®
Audio,”, the cell phone must support at least the Bluetooth
®
profile “Ad-
vanced Audio Distribution Profile” (A2DP). A2DP is used for high-quality wireless transmission of a ste-
reo audio signal.
Starting music playback via “Bluetooth
®
Audio”
− The cell phone must be paired with the hands free phone kit ⇒ page 4 to start “Bluetooth
®
Audio”.
− Select the music playback program on the cell phone (e.g. Playback via headset or Playback via
Bluetooth). Please refer to the User’s Guide for your cell phone for instructions as to how to select
the music playback program.
− Select the device VW UHV.
− Select the media menu by pressing the Media button on the radio or radio-navigation system.
− Music playback will start.
Ending music playback via “Bluetooth
®
Audio”
− Stop playback from the music playback program in your cell phone.
Approved radios and radio-navigation systems
“Bluetooth
®
Audio” is only possible with certain Volkswagen radios or Volkswagen navigation systems.
Ask your Volkswagen dealership which products are compatible.
Operation during music playback via “Bluetooth
®
Audio”
You adjust the sound and switch to other audio sources using the radio or radio-navigation system.
You select the music track and fast forward or rewind using the buttons on the cell phone. Please read
the User’s Guide for your mobile cell phone for more information.
Making telephone calls during music playback via “Bluetooth
®
Audio”
All telephone functions are available during music playback via “Bluetooth
®
Audio”. The music is muted
while you make a telephone call.
Pairing Bluetooth
®
-capable audio device
If you want to pair a Bluetooth
®
-capable audio device (e.g. MP3 player) in addition to the cell phone with
the optional hands free phone kit in your vehicle, please observe the following:
● Disconnect the active Bluetooth
®
connections between the paired cell phone and the hands free
phone kit.
● Pair the Bluetooth
®
-capable audio device with hands free phone kit, ⇒ page 4 or manufacturer's
User’s Guide.
● If your cell phone has been disconnected from the hands free phone kit, you can reconnect it using
the option Reconnect.
Note
● It may take up to 70 seconds before the music playback starts via Bluetooth
®
Audio.
● It is possible to adjust the volume on the phone with some cell phones. We recommend setting the
maximum volume on the cell phone and adjusting the volume on the radio or radio-navigation system.
