for the correct procedure.
Note
You might experience reception problems with the cell phone if you are travelling though areas where
the signal is weak.
Please observe applicable laws concerning the use of a cell phone in your vehicle.
The cell phone controls in the multi-function steering wheel work only when the ignition is switched
on.
When you press the telephone buttons, the button and warning sounds from the cell phone may be
heard over the radio or radio-navigation system. We recommend deactivating the button and warning
sounds on your cell phone. Please read the User’s Guide provided by the cell phone manufacturer for
more information.
CAUTION
Improper use of the cell phone causes driver distraction and accidents as well as serious person-
al injury.
Always devote your full attention to the traffic around you! Use the telephone only if traffic
and other conditions permit.
Always set volume levels so that you can clearly hear horns, sirens and other warning sounds
outside the vehicle.
Using a cell phone inside the vehicle without having a separate outside antenna can be dan-
gerous to your health and that of your passengers because the electromagnetic radiation
energy that cell phones emit may be above established limits.
Never leave a cell phone on the seat, instrument panel or in other places where it can be
thrown around the inside of the vehicle during a sudden braking maneuver, a crash or another
accident and injure vehicle occupants.
In areas with no or inadequate network reception, and under certain conditions such as in tun-
nels, garages and underpasses, it may not be possible to make a telephone call – even in an
emergency!
