Change your profile for meetings or outdoor use Set your phone to discreetly beep once instead of ringing, when you're in a meeting. Or, if you don't want to miss a call in a noisy environment, switch to the loud profile. 1. Select settings > tone profiles. 2. Select or . 3. Select activate. Tip: Whichever app or view you're in, you can easily switch to a profile from the notification area.
Change your ringtone You can set a different ringtone for each profile. 1. Select settings > tone profiles and a profile. 2. Select ringtone. 3. Select a ringtone from open files or your downloaded tones. The ringtone plays so you can see if you like it. 4. When you've found a ringtone you like, select YES. Set a song as your ringtone Want to use your favourite song from the music player as your ringtone? You can also take the best section of the song and use that as your ringtone. 1. Prevent making or receiving calls Keep your phone bill under control by preventing certain types of calls. You can prevent, for example, incoming calls while you're abroad. Tip: To check how long your calls have been, how much data you've used, or how many text messages you've sent, select counters.

Edit a photo Is the photo you took too dark or not ideally framed? With your phone, you can easily do simple edits to the photos you've taken. 1. Select gallery and a photo. 2. Send a photo or video Send your photos and videos to your family and friends in a multimedia message or mail, or using Bluetooth. Select gallery. 1. Open the tab where the photo or video is. 2. Protect your phone Do you want to control who can find and connect to your phone when Bluetooth is on? Select settings > connectivity > Bluetooth. Prevent others from finding your phone Select my phone visibility > hidden. When your phone is hidden, others can't find it. However, paired devices can still connect to your phone. Switch Bluetooth off Swipe down from the top of the screen, then select . Do not pair with or accept connection requests from an unknown device.
Copy content between your phone and a computer You can use a USB cable to copy your photos and other content between your phone and a compatible computer. 1. Connect to a Wi-Fi network To help save data costs, you can use a Wi-Fi network to connect to the internet, whether you're at home or at a library or internet café. 1. Select settings > connectivity > Wi-Fi. 2. Make sure Wi-Fi is on. 3. To connect, select the network and CONNECT. 4. If the connection is secured, type in the password. Maps About Maps Maps shows you what is nearby and helps you plan your route. Select maps. You can: • See where you are on a map • Plan a route to a nearby place • Search for a place or an address, and save it • Send your location or a place to a friend in a text message Your phone may have a memory card with preloaded maps for your country. Make sure the memory card is in your phone before using Maps.
Contents of digital maps may sometimes be inaccurate and incomplete. Never rely solely on the content or the service for essential communications, such as in emergencies.
See where you are on the map To help get your bearings, check where you are on the map. Select maps. You are shown on the map if your phone can find your location. Update your location Select . Save your current location Select your location and > . Tip: When you're shown on the map, to see nearby places, select to see the toolbar, and select > .
N Search for a place You can search for locations, such as street addresses, and places, such as restaurants. 1. Select maps. 2. Select to see the toolbar, then select . 3. Write the name of the place or the address.
Download maps If you browse to an area of the map which is not saved on your memory card, and you have an active data connection to the internet, a map for the area is automatically downloaded. Tip: Save new street maps to your phone before a journey, so you can browse the maps without an internet connection when travelling.
Create a walking route Plan a walking route to a place nearby. You can see the entire route and all the turnings on the map before setting off. 1. Select maps. 2. Select to see the toolbar, then select > . 3. Select starting location and a place, address, saved favourite, or a point on the map as the start point of your walking route. To start from where you are now, select my position. 4. Select destination and the end point of the walking route.

Protect your phone Password protect your memory card Want to protect your memory card against unauthorised use? You can set a password to protect the content. 1. Select files. 2. Format a memory card Want to delete all content from your memory card? When you format a memory card, all the data on it is deleted. 1. Select files. 2. Select and hold the memory card, then select mem. card options. 3. Select format mem. card.
Prepare your phone for recycling If you buy a new phone, or otherwise want to dispose of your phone, Nokia recommends that you recycle your phone. Beforehand, remove all personal info and content from your phone. Remove all content and restore settings to the original values 1. Back up the content you want to keep to a compatible memory card or to a compatible computer. 2. End all calls and connections. 3. Select settings and restore factory sett. > all. 4. Support and updates Troubleshooting If you have an issue, do the following: • Switch the phone off, and remove the battery. After about a minute, put the battery back in, and switch the phone on again. • Update your phone software: Select settings and phone > device updates. • Restore the original factory settings: End all calls and connections, and select settings and restore factory sett. > settings only. About phone software updates Stay in step with the beat – update your phone software to get new and enhanced features for your phone. Updating the software may also improve your phone performance. It is recommended that you back up your personal data before updating your phone software. Warning: If you install a software update, you cannot use the device, even to make emergency calls, until the installation is completed and the device is restarted.
Update phone software using your PC Update your phone software with the Nokia Suite PC app. You can also back up the photos and other stuff in your phone to your computer. You need a compatible PC, a high-speed internet connection, and a compatible USB cable to connect your phone to the PC. To get more info and to download the app, go to www.nokia.com/ support.
Update phone software using your phone You can update your phone software wirelessly. You can also set your phone to automatically check for updates. Select settings and phone > device updates. 1. The update may take several minutes. If you encounter problems, contact your network service provider.
Restore original settings If your phone is not working properly, you can reset some settings to their original values. 1. End all calls and connections. 2. Select settings and restore factory sett. > settings only. 3. Type in the security code. This does not affect documents or files stored on your phone. After restoring the original settings, your phone switches off and then on again. This may take longer than usual.
Access codes PIN or PIN2 code These protect your SIM against unauthorised use or are required to access some features. (4-8 digits) You can set your phone to ask for the PIN code when you switch it on. If not supplied with your card or you forget the codes, contact your service provider. If you type in the code incorrectly three times in a row, you need to unblock the code with the PUK or PUK2 code. PUK or PUK2 code (8 digits) IMEI number These are required to unblock a PIN or PIN2 code.
Keep the code secret and in a safe place, separate from your phone. If you forget the code and your phone is locked, your phone will require service. Additional charges may apply, and all the personal data in your phone may be deleted. For more information, contact Nokia Care or your phone dealer.
