Always keep your hands free to operate the vehicle while driving. Your first consideration while driving should be road safety.
ACCESSORIES AND BATTERIES Use only approved accessories and batteries. Do not connect incompatible products. WATER-RESISTANCE Your device is not water-resistant. Keep it dry. ■ About your device The wireless device described in this guide is approved for use on the CDMA 800, 1700/2100 and 1900 MHz wireless networks. Contact your service provider for more information about networks.
Warning: To use any features in this device, other than the alarm clock, the device must be switched on. Do not switch the device on when wireless device use may cause interference or danger Remember to make back-up copies or keep a written record of all important information stored in your device. When connecting to any other device, read its user guide for detailed safety instructions. Do not connect incompatible products.
Your service provider may have requested that certain features be disabled or not activated in your device. If so, these features will not appear on your device menu. Your device may also have a special configuration such as changes in menu names, menu order, and icons. Contact your service provider for more information. This device supports WAP 2.0 protocols (HTTP and SSL) that run on TCP/IP protocols.
General information ■ Access codes The lock code controls access to features and is supplied with the device. The lock code protects your device from unauthorized use. The preset code is 0000. When the device is locked, only calls to the official emergency number programmed into your device can be made. To define the security settings for your device, select Menu > Settings > Security. ■ Nokia support on the web Check www.nokia.
1. Get started ■ Install and remove the battery Note: Always switch off the power and disconnect the charger and any other device before removing the cover. Avoid touching electronic components while changing the cover. Always store and use the device with the cover attached. 1. To remove the cover, with the back of the device facing you, press the bottom part (A) of the device, and slide the back cover towards the upper part of the device (B). 2.
3. Push down on the other end of the battery to snap the battery into place. 4. To replace the back cover, align the tabs on the cover to the slots on the back of the device. 5. Press the top part (A) of the cover, and slide it into place (B). 6. To remove the battery, remove the back cover (see step 1), insert your finger into the finger grip, and lift the battery from its compartment. ■ Insert or remove microSD card Use only compatible microSD cards approved by Nokia for use with this device.
To insert or remove a microSD card, remove the back cover and battery first. 1. To open the memory card holder, slide the holder in the direction shown in the figure (A) and lift it up (B). 2. To insert the memory card, insert it into the holder. Make sure that the contact area on the card is facing up and towards the slot. To remove the memory card, pull it out of the holder. 3. Rotate the memory card holder back into the slot (A), and slide the holder back until it firmly snaps into place (B).
■ Charge the battery 1. Connect the Nokia approved charger to a wall socket. 2. Insert the charger plug into the USB connector on the right side of the device. If the battery is completely discharged, it may take a few seconds before the charging indicator appears on the display or before any calls can be made. Note that the USB connector on the right side of the device can be used to either charge the battery or connect to a compatible computer for data transmission. Please see “USB data cable‚" p. 41.
■ Normal operating position Your device has an internal antenna. Hold the device as you would any other telephone. Note: Your device may have internal and external antennas. As with any radio transmitting device, avoid touching the antenna area unnecessarily while the antenna is transmitting or receiving. Contact with such an antenna affects the communication quality and may cause the device to operate at a higher power level than otherwise needed and may reduce the battery life.

■ Standby mode and shortcuts Depending on your wireless service provider and the model number of your device, some or all of the following indicators may appear in the standby mode. 1. Signal strength — Shows the signal strength of the wireless network at your current location. 1 2 2. Battery level — Shows the battery charge level. 3. Go to — Press the left selection key to access a certain feature quickly. 3 5 Go to Menu Names 4 4. Names — Press the right selection key to access the contacts list.
• To activate the radio function, press and hold * for at lease three seconds. • To activate the minibrowser, press and hold 0 for at lease three seconds. • To activate voice recognition function, press and hold right selection key for at least three seconds. To set the voice recognition language, see “Voice commands‚" p. 44. • To shortcuts of scroll key, see “My shortcuts‚" p. 39. ■ Keyguard The keyguard locks the keypad to prevent accidental key presses.
3. Call functions ■ Make and answer a call To make a call, enter the phone number, including the country code and area code, if necessary, and press the call key. To adjust the volume of the earpiece or handset during a call, press the volume keys up or down. When you adjust the volume, bars indicate volume level. The longer the bar, the higher the volume. To answer a call, press the call key or open the fold. To end a call or to reject an incoming call, press the end key or close the fold.
■ Loudspeaker Warning: Do not hold the device near your ear when the loudspeaker is in use because the volume may be extremely loud. To activate the loudspeaker during a call, select Loudsp. To deactivate the loudspeaker, select Handset. The loudspeaker is deactivated automatically when a call (or a call attempt) ends or when certain accessories are connected.
4. Write text You can enter text using traditional or predictive text input. To change the text input method and to switch between upper and lower case, press #. To display a list of special characters, press *. ■ Traditional text input Press a number key, 2-9, repeatedly until the desired character appears. To add a space, press 0. To add a number, press and hold the desired number key. ■ Predictive text input Predictive text input is based on a built-in dictionary when writing in English.
If the displayed word is the one you want, press 0, and start writing the next word. If not, press * repeatedly to view other word options. If ? is displayed after the word, the word is not in the dictionary. To add the word to the dictionary, select Spell, enter the word using traditional text input, and select Save.
5. Menu functions The device functions are grouped into menus. The name and the icon depend on the operator. Not all menu functions or option items are described here. In the standby mode, select Menu, scroll to the menu item you want to open, and select it. To exit the current menu level, select Exit or Back. To return to the standby mode, press the end key. ■ Messaging You can only use messaging services supported by your network or service provider.
Signature — to append a signature to outgoing text messages Select Other settings and from the following: Message font size — Change the font size when writing or reading messages. Message overwriting — When the message memory is full, your device cannot receive any new messages. To choose which messages are overwritten when new ones arrive, select Sent items only, Inbox only, Sent items & Inbox or Off. Save sent messages — Select whether to save the sent messages to the Sent items folder.
Allow multimedia reception — Select whether to receive multimedia messages. To only receive multimedia messages when you are in your home network, select In home network (network service). For more information, contact your service provider. Incoming multimedia messages — Select whether incoming multimedia messages are retrieved automatically or manually, or not at all. Allow advertisements — Select whether to block or allow advertisements (network service) sent as multimedia messages.
Only devices that have compatible features can receive and display multimedia messages. The appearance of a message may vary depending on the receiving device. The wireless network may limit the size of MMS messages. If the inserted picture exceeds this limit, the device may make it smaller so that it can be sent by MMS. To send a multimedia message: 1. Select Menu > Messaging > Multimedia messages > Create message. 2. To write a message, select Insert > Text.
2. Select Reply > Empty screen, Original text, Template, or other preset reply. 3. Enter your reply, and select Send. Important: Exercise caution when opening messages. Messages may contain malicious software or otherwise be harmful to your device or PC. Inbox, Sent items, and Drafts folders All incoming text and multimedia messages are saved in the Inbox folder. Outbox contains unsent and failed messages. If you have set the device to save the sent messages, they are saved in the Sent items folder.
To delete all multimedia messages in a folder, select Menu > Messaging > Multimedia messages > Delete messages and the folder. Voice messages To activate voice mail (network service), contact your service provider. When you subscribe to the service, you receive a voice mailbox number. Save the number to your device. For more information, contact your service provider. To listen to your voice messages, select Menu > Messaging > Voice messages > Listen to voice messages.
■ Log To view your most recent missed or received calls or dialed numbers, select Menu > Log > Missed calls, Received calls, Dialed numbers, or Message recipients. You can view the date and time of the call, edit, view, or call the logged phone number, send a message to it, or save it to your contacts. To view all of the numbers chronologically, select Call log. To view the contacts to whom you most recently sent messages, select Message recipients.
To edit or delete, highlight the contact and select Details > Options and from the available options. To define how the contact names are displayed, select Menu > Contacts > Settings and from the available options. To view how much memory your contact information is using, select Memory status. ■ Gallery You can save pictures, music files, tones, and recordings to a folder in the Gallery.
Themes Themes help you personalize your device. To display a list of available themes, select Menu > Gallery > Themes > Open. To send, move, or rename a theme, select the theme, Options, and from the available options. Music files The music player supports files in the MP3 format. To listen to an audio file, select Menu > Gallery > Music files > Open. Select the file and Open. To delete, send, move, or rename a file, select the file, Options, and from the available options.
Recordings Recordings is a default folder to store the voice recordings. To display a list of recorded files, select Menu > Gallery > Recordings > Open. To play a recording, select the recording, then Open. ■ Media Media contains different media applications that allow you to capture images, play sound clips, record sounds, and listen to the radio. Camera You can capture images with the built-in camera. The camera produces images in JPEG format. The camera lens is on the back of the device.
To capture the image, press the camera key, or select Capture. The image is saved in the Images folder in Gallery. To capture another image, select Back. To send the image as a message, select Send. To use, delete, edit or rename the image, select Options, and from the available options. Camera options In the standby mode, select Menu > Media > Camera > Options and from the following: Brightness — Adjust the brightness of the viewfinder.
Music player Listen to music or other sound tracks in MP3, AAC and AAC+ format. The music player automatically detects music files saved in the Music files folder in Gallery. Warning: When you use the headset, your ability to hear outside sounds may be affected. Do not use the headset where it can endanger your safety To access the music player options, select Menu >Media > Music player > Options. Play songs You can operate the music player with the fold open or closed.
Voice recorder Record pieces of speech and sound and listen to them later. You can record up to 60 seconds of sound, depending on the available memory. To start recording, select Menu > Media > Voice recorder > the record button . To finish recording, select the stop button . The file is saved in the Recordings folder in Gallery. After you save a recording, select Options > Play last recorded, Send last recorded, Recordings list, or Select memory.
Warning: Listen to music at a moderate level. Continuous exposure to high volume may damage your hearing. Do not hold the device near your ear when the loudspeaker is in use, because the volume may be extremely loud. To listen to the radio, select Menu > Media > Radio. To start the channel search, select and hold the scroll key left or right. To save the channel to a memory location select Options > Save station.
In the flight profile, you may need to unlock the device and change to the calling profile before making a call. Themes You can change the way your display looks and how your device sounds by applying a theme. A theme can include a wallpaper image, a ringing tone, a screen saver, and a color scheme. Themes are stored in the Gallery. To set a theme for your device, select Menu > Settings > Themes, a theme, and Apply. Tones Tone settings only apply to the currently active profile.

To select a function from the list for the key you want to assign the shortcut to, select Menu > Settings > My shortcuts, the key, the function, and Select. Connectivity Bluetooth connection This device is compliant with Bluetooth Specification 2.
To see a list of your Bluetooth connections, select Active devices. To define how your device is shown to other Bluetooth devices, select My phone’s visibility or My phone’s name. Do not accept Bluetooth connectivity from sources you do not trust. Operating the device in hidden mode helps avoiding malicious software. Features using Bluetooth technology increase the demand on battery power and reduce the battery life.
To be asked for the purpose of the connection each time the cable is connected, select Menu > Settings > Connectivity > USB data cable > Ask on connection.
International prefix — to make international calls using the + sign as the international prefix. The phone will replace the + sign in a saved phone number when creating a call.
Start-up tone and Switch off tone — to select whether the device sounds a tone when it is switched on or off Welcome note — to enter a welcome note that briefly appears when you switch your device on Help text activation — to display brief descriptions for most menu items Fold close handling — to set what happens when you close the fold Flight query — to be asked if the flight profile should be used each time you switch the device on Backlight time-out — to define how long the backlight remains on Voice co
5. To select the language for voice recognition and playback, select Menu > Settings > Phone > Language settings > Recogn. language. Enhancements For the compatible enhancements that can be connected to your device, select Menu > Settings > Enhancements. To optimize the sound quality when using a hearing aid, select Hearing aid > T-coil hearing aid mode > On. Security To set the security settings for your device, select Menu > Settings > Security, enter the passcode, and from the available options.
Network services To view the network services available on your device, select Menu > Settings > Network services and from the available options. For more information on network services, contact your service provider. Device information To view information about your device, select Menu > Settings > Phone details and from the available options. Restore settings To reset some of the menu setting to their original values, select Menu > Settings > Restore settings > Restore settings only.
To activate an alarm, select Menu > Organizer > Alarm clock > Alarm > On. Enter the time for the alarm in the hh:mm format. If the 12-hour clock format is used, select Options > am or pm. When an alarm is active, is displayed in the standby mode. When the alarm sounds, to switch it off, select Stop. To delay the alarm for a set time, select Snooze. To turn off an active alarm, select Menu > Organizer > Alarm clock > Change > Alarm > Off.
Notes You can create and send notes to other compatible devices, and save received plain text files (in TXT format) to Notes. To write a new note, select Menu > Organizer > Notes > Add note. Create your note, and select Save. Calculator Note: This calculator has limited accuracy and is designed for simple calculations. 1.Select Menu > Organizer > Calculator. 2. Enter the first number in the calculation. Press # for a decimal point, if necessary.
To set an interval timer, select Menu > Organizer > Countd. timer > Interval timer > Add new timer. Enter a name for the timer, and select Save. Enter the time interval, and select OK. To use an interval timer, select Menu > Organizer > Countd. timer > Interval timer, one of the set interval timers, and Start timer. Stopwatch To use the split time or lap time functions for activities where you need to time yourself, select Menu > Organizer > Stopwatch > Split timing or Lap timing > Start.
■ Web Web requires network support and may not be available, or it may appear differently on your device depending on your network service provider. For further information, contact your service provider. ■ Extras Select Menu > Extras. To play a game on your device, select Games. To launch an application, select Collection, and the application.
6. Accessories For availability of approved accessories, please check with your dealer. When you disconnect the power cord of any accessory, grasp and pull the plug, not the cord. Warning: Use only batteries, chargers, and accessories approved by Nokia for use with this particular model. The use of any other types may invalidate any approval or warranty, and may be dangerous.
7. Battery and charger information Your device is powered by a rechargeable battery. The battery intended for use with this device is the BL-4B. Nokia may make additional battery models available for this device. This device is intended for use when supplied with power from the following charger: AC-6. The exact charger model number may vary depending on the type of plug. The plug variant is identified by one of the following: E, EB, X, AR, U, A,C or UB.
Unplug the charger from the electrical plug and the device when not in use. Do not leave a fully charged battery connected to a charger, since overcharging may shorten its lifetime. If left unused, a fully charged battery will lose its charge over time. Always try to keep the battery between 15°C and 25°C (59°F and 77°F). Extreme temperatures reduce the capacity and lifetime of the battery. A device with a hot or cold battery may not work temporarily.
Do not modify, remanufacture, attempt to insert foreign objects into the battery, or immerse or expose it to water or other liquids. Improper battery use may result in a fire, explosion, or other hazard. If the device or battery is dropped, especially on a hard surface, and you believe the battery has been damaged, take it to a service center for inspection before continuing to use it. Use the battery only for its intended purpose. Never use any charger or battery that is damaged.
2. When you angle the hologram left, right, down and up, you should see 1, 2, 3 and 4 dots on each side respectively. Successful completion of the steps is not a total assurance of the authenticity of the battery. If you have any reason to believe that your battery is not an authentic, original Nokia battery, you should refrain from using it, and take it to the nearest Nokia authorized service center dealer for assistance. If authenticity cannot be verified, return the battery to the place of purchase.
■ Talk, standby and charging times This section provides information about battery charging time with the travel charger (AC-6U), and talk and standby times. The information in this section is subject to change. For more information, contact your service provider. Important: Battery talk and standby times are estimates only and depend on signal strength, network conditions, features used, battery age and condition, temperatures to which battery is exposed, use in digital mode, and many other factors.

Care and maintenance Your device is a product of superior design and craftsmanship and should be treated with care. The following suggestions will help you protect your warranty coverage. • Keep the device dry. Precipitation, humidity, and all types of liquids or moisture can contain minerals that will corrode electronic circuits. If your device does get wet, remove the battery, and allow the device to dry completely before replacing it. • Do not use or store the device in dusty, dirty areas.
• Do not use harsh chemicals, cleaning solvents, or strong detergents to clean the device. • Do not paint the device. Paint can clog the moving parts and prevent proper operation. • Use a soft, clean, dry cloth to clean any lenses, such as camera, proximity sensor, and light sensor lenses. • Use only the supplied or an approved replacement antenna. Unauthorized antennas, modifications, or attachments could damage the device and may violate regulations governing radio devices. • Use chargers indoors.
Additional safety information ■ Small children Your device and its accessories may contain small parts. Keep them out of the reach of small children. ■ Operating environment This device meets RF exposure guidelines when used either in the normal use position against the ear or when positioned at least 2.2 centimeters (7/8 inches) away from the body.

Using your device while flying in aircraft is prohibited. Switch off your device before boarding an aircraft. ■ Emergency calls Important: This device operates using radio signals, wireless networks, landline networks, and userprogrammed functions. If your device supports voice calls over the internet (internet calls), activate both the internet calls and the cellular phone. The device will attempt to make emergency calls over both the cellular networks and through your internet call provider if both are activated. Connections in all conditions cannot be guaranteed.
3. Enter the official emergency number for your present location. Emergency numbers vary by location. 4. Press the call key. When making an emergency call, give all the necessary information as accurately as possible. Your wireless device may be the only means of communication at the scene of an accident. Do not end the call until given permission to do so. ■ Certification information (SAR) This mobile device meets guidelines for exposure to radio waves.

■ Modo en espera y accesos directos Dependiendo de su proveedor de servicios móviles y del número de modelo del dispositivo, algunos o todos los siguientes indicadores pueden aparecer en el modo en espera. 1. ■ Accesos directos Accesos directos en el modo en espera: • Para acceder a la lista de números marcados, pulse una vez la tecla Llamar. • Para alternar entre el perfil actual y el perfil de silencio, mantenga pulsada la tecla # durante al menos tres segundos. • Para activar la función de la radio, mantenga pulsada la tecla * al menos durante tres segundos. • Para activar el miniexplorador, mantenga pulsada la tecla 0 al menos durante tres segundos.
Para desbloquear el teclado, seleccione Desbloq y pulse la tecla * en un período de 2 segundos. Si recibe una llamada cuando el teclado está bloqueado, éste se desbloquea automáticamente y luego se vuelve a bloquear cuando finaliza la llamada. Cuando el bloqueo de teclado está activado, es posible realizar llamadas al número de emergencia oficial programado en el teléfono. Para que el teclado se bloquee automáticamente cuando no se pulsen teclas durante un período determinado, seleccione Menú > Config.
3. Funciones de llamada ■ Realizar y contestar una llamada Para realizar una llamada, ingrese el número de teléfono, incluyendo el código de país y de área, si es necesario, y pulse la tecla Llamar. Para ajustar el volumen del auricular o del teléfono durante una llamada, pulse las teclas de volumen hacia arriba o abajo. Cuando ajusta el volumen, las barras indican el nivel de volumen. Mientras más grande sea la barra, más alto será el volumen.
■ Altavoz Aviso: Cuando use el altavoz, no sostenga el dispositivo cerca del oído, ya que el volumen puede resultar demasiado alto. Para activar el altavoz durante una llamada, seleccione Altavoz. Para desactivar el altavoz, seleccione Teléfono. El altavoz se desactiva automáticamente cuando finaliza una llamada (o un intento de llamada) o cuando se conectan ciertos accesorios.
4. Escribir texto Puede escribir con el ingreso de texto tradicional o predictivo . Para cambiar el método de ingreso de texto y alternar entre mayúsculas y minúsculas, pulse la tecla #. Para que aparezca una lista de caracteres especiales, pulse la tecla *. ■ Ingreso de texto tradicional Pulse una tecla numérica, del 2 al 9, varias veces hasta que aparezca el carácter deseado. Para agregar un espacio, pulse la tecla 0. Para agregar un número, mantenga pulsada la tecla numérica deseada.
Si la palabra que aparece es la que desea escribir, pulse la tecla 0 y comience a escribir la siguiente palabra. Si no es así, pulse la tecla * varias veces para ver otras opciones de palabras. Si el signo ? aparece después de la palabra, significa que la palabra no está en el diccionario. Para agregar la palabra al diccionario, seleccione Deletreo, ingrese la palabra con el ingreso de texto tradicional y seleccione Guardar.
5. Funciones de menú Las funciones del dispositivo están en grupos de menús. El nombre y el icono dependen del operador. No todas las funciones de menú o elementos de opciones se describen aquí. Enviar N° devolución: para enviar un número al que desea que le devuelvan la llamada. Firma: para incluir una firma en los mensajes de texto salientes. Seleccione Otras config. y de las siguientes opciones: Tamaño de letra del mensaje: cambiar el tamaño de la letra cuando escriba o lea mensajes. Sobrescribir mensaje: cuando la memoria para mensajes está llena, el dispositivo no puede recibir mensajes nuevos. Para elegir los mensajes que se sobrescribirán cuando lleguen mensajes nuevos, seleccione Sólo Elem.
Duración diap. pred.: configurar el tiempo predeterminado para las diapositivas de un mensaje multimedia. Permitir recep. multimedia: seleccionar si desea recibir mensajes multimedia. Mensajes multimedia entrantes: para permitir la recepción automática, manual o rechazar la recepción de mensajes multimedia.
Escribir y enviar un mensaje multimedia Un mensaje multimedia puede incluir texto y objetos como imágenes y clips de sonido. Sólo los dispositivos con funciones compatibles pueden recibir y mostrar mensajes multimedia. La apariencia de un mensaje puede variar dependiendo del dispositivo receptor. La red celular puede limitar el tamaño de los mensajes MMS. Si la imagen insertada excede ese límite, el dispositivo podrá reducir su tamaño para enviarla por MMS. Para enviar un mensaje multimedia: 1.
1. Seleccione Mostrar para leer el mensaje o Salir para ignorar la notificación. en el modo en espera indica que tiene mensajes sin leer en el buzón. 2. Seleccione Responder > Pantalla vacía, Texto original, Plantilla o alguna otra respuesta previamente establecida. 3. Ingrese la respuesta y seleccione Enviar. Importante: Tenga precaución al abrir los mensajes. Los mensajes pueden contener software malicioso o dañar de alguna manera el dispositivo o la PC.
Eliminar mensajes Si la memoria de mensajes está llena y tiene mensajes entrantes, destella en el modo en espera. Para recibir los mensajes, elimine algunos de los mensajes antiguos. Para eliminar un mensaje, selecciónelo y elija Opc. > Eliminar. Para eliminar todos los mensajes de texto de una carpeta, seleccione Menú > Mensajería > Mensajes texto > Eliminar mensajes > Todos, Todos los leídos o Todos no leídos y seleccione la carpeta.
Miniexplorador El miniexplorador (servicio de red) le permite revisar sus mensajes de e-mail con su dispositivo. Seleccione Menú > Mensajería > Mensajes de miniexplor. Importante: Tenga precaución al abrir los mensajes. Los mensajes pueden contener software malicioso o dañar de alguna manera el dispositivo o la PC. Grupos La función Grupos le permite enviar mensajes a un grupo de personas designado.
Para ver la duración aproximada de las llamadas, seleccione Menú > Registro > Duración de las llamadas y de las opciones disponibles. Para poner los cronómetros en cero, elija Borrar cronómetros, ingrese el código de bloqueo y seleccione Aceptar. Para ver la duración o cantidad de datos enviados o recibidos durante llamadas de datos y de fax (servicio de red) o usar el miniexplorador (servicio de red), seleccione Menú > Registro > Llamadas datos/fax o Llam. miniexplorador.
Gráficos Puede personalizar el dispositivo con una imagen de fondo, protectores de pantalla y marcos usando imágenes previamente cargadas o descargadas en esta carpeta. Para ver una lista de imágenes disponibles, seleccione Menú > Galería > Gráficos, la carpeta, Abrir. Para eliminar, enviar o mover una imagen, seleccione la imagen, Opc. y de las opciones disponibles. Imágenes Para ver y administrar imágenes capturadas con la cámara del dispositivo, seleccione Menú > Galería > Imágenes > Abrir.
Para escuchar un archivo de audio, seleccione Menú > Galería > Arch. música > Abrir. Seleccione el archivo y Abrir. Para eliminar, enviar, mover o dar otro nombre a un archivo, seleccione el archivo, Opc. y de las opciones disponibles. Tonos Puede personalizar el dispositivo con tonos de timbre y tonos de aviso almacenados en la carpeta Tonos. Para ver una lista de los tonos disponibles, seleccione Menú > Galería > Tonos > Abrir > Tonos de timbre o Tonos aviso > Abrir.
■ Multimedia Multimedia tiene diferentes aplicaciones multimedia que le permiten capturar imágenes, reproducir clips de sonido, grabar sonidos y escuchar la radio. Cámara Puede capturar imágenes con la cámara incorporada. La cámara produce imágenes en formato JPEG. El lente de la cámara está ubicado en la parte posterior del dispositivo. Aviso: Cuando utilice el auricular, su capacidad para oír los sonidos exteriores puede verse afectada. No use el auricular en condiciones que pongan su seguridad en peligro. Para acceder a las opciones del reproductor de música, seleccione Menú > Multimedia > Reprod. música > Opc. Reproducir canciones Puede operar el reproductor de música con la tapa abierta o cerrada. Para activar el reproductor de música, seleccione Menú > Multimedia > Reprod.
Para comenzar a grabar, seleccione Menú > Multimedia > Grabador voz > el botón para grabar . Para finalizar la grabación, seleccione el boton para detener . El archivo se guarda en la carpeta Grabaciones en Galería. Después de guardar una grabación, seleccione Opc. > Repr. último grab., Enviar último grab., Lista grabaciones o Selec. memoria. ■ Organizador El dispositivo tiene funciones que le ayudan a organizar su vida cotidiana. Alarma La alarma depende del reloj del dispositivo. Una alarma activada suena incluso cuando el dispositivo está apagado. Para activar una alarma, seleccione Menú > Organizador > Alarma > Alarma > Activar. Ingrese la hora para la alarma en formato hh:mm:ss. Si utiliza el formato de reloj de 12 horas, seleccione Opc. > am o pm. Cuando hay una alarma activa, aparece en el modo en espera.

7. Información sobre baterías y cargadores Su dispositivo recibe alimentación eléctrica a través de una batería recargable. La batería indicada para este dispositivo es BL-4B. Es posible que Nokia tenga disponibles modelos de batería adicionales para este dispositivo. Este dispositivo está diseñado para su uso con el siguiente cargador: AC-6. Tiempos de conversación y standby Los tiempos de funcionamiento son sólo estimaciones y dependen de varios factores, tales como: fuerza de la señal, uso del teléfono, condiciones de la red, funciones usadas, condición y vida de la batería (incluso el procedimiento de carga), temperaturas a las cuales se expone la batería, y otros factores más.
Cuidado y mantenimiento Su dispositivo es un producto de diseño y fabricación superiores, y se le debe tratar con cuidado. Las siguientes sugerencias lo ayudarán a mantener la cobertura de su garantía. • Mantenga el dispositivo seco. Las precipitaciones, la humedad y todos los tipos de líquidos o humedad contienen minerales que corroen los circuitos electrónicos. Si su dispositivo se moja, retire la batería y espere a que el dispositivo esté completamente seco para volver a colocarla.
• No deje caer, no golpee ni sacuda bruscamente el dispositivo. Los manejos bruscos pueden dañar las tarjetas de circuitos internos y los mecanismos delicados. • No utilice productos químicos abrasivos, solventes de limpieza ni detergentes fuertes para limpiarlo. • No pinte el dispositivo. La pintura puede obstruir las piezas movibles e impedir la operación apropiada.
Información adicional de seguridad ■ Niños pequeños Su dispositivo y los accesorios pueden contener partes pequeñas. Manténgalos fuera del alcance de los niños. ■ Entorno operativo Este dispositivo cumple con lo establecido en las normas de exposición RF cuando se lo usa en su posición normal cerca del oído o cuando se lo coloca a una distancia mínima de 2,2 centímetros (7/8 pulgadas) del cuerpo.

Auxiliares auditivos Algunos dispositivos móviles digitales pueden interferir con determinados auxiliares auditivos.
Consulte a un profesional especializado en el área de auxiliares auditivos para determinar la calificación M de su auxiliar y si funcionará con este dispositivo. Este dispositivo incluye una configuración de conexión directa con auxiliares auditivos equipados con telecoil. Cuando el auxiliar auditivo equipado con telecoil (interruptor T) y la bobina telefónica están activados, el uso del dispositivo con el audífono proporcionará una conexión directa de audio a través de su aparato auditivo.
Sólo personal especializado debe reparar el dispositivo o instalarlo en su vehículo. Una instalación o reparación defectuosa puede resultar peligrosa y anular cualquier garantía que se aplique al dispositivo. Compruebe con regularidad que el equipo completo del dispositivo móvil de su vehículo esté correctamente montado y funcionando debidamente. ■ Zonas potencialmente explosivas Apague el dispositivo en áreas donde puedan producirse explosiones y obedezca todas las señales e instrucciones. ■ Llamadas de emergencia Importante: Este dispositivo funciona con señales de radio, redes celulares, redes terrestres y funciones programadas por el usuario. Si su dispositivo admite llamadas de voz por Internet (llamadas por Internet), active las llamadas por Internet y el teléfono celular. El dispositivo intentará realizar llamadas de emergencia tanto a través de la red celular como de su proveedor de servicios de llamadas por Internet, si ambos están activados.
