PCS Messaging
With PCS Messaging, you can use a person’s wireless phone
number to send text messages from your PCS Phone to their
messaging-ready phone—and they can send messages to you.
When you receive a new message, you’ll be automatically notified.
You can use predictive text to make messaging simpler (see
"Using Predictive Text" on page 58 for more information). In
addition, PCS messaging includes a variety of pre-set messages
(templates), such as “Please call” and “I am late. I will be there
at,” to make composing messages fast and easy.
Note: PCS Messaging is not available while roaming off the enhanced
Sprint Nationwide PCS Network.
Note: Text messages are limited to 160 characters.
Sending PCS Messages
You can use several methods to send text messages.
To send a message when you know the number:
If you know the phone number of the recipient, you can use the
following shortcut.
1. From the standby mode, type the phone number, and
press Options.
2. Scroll to Send message and press Select.
3. Compose your message. (Use the key to select a character
input mode, to insert a space, and to insert a symbol.)
4. Press Options, scroll to Send, and press Select.
To send a message using templates:
Your phone contains templates that can make messaging really
fast. Templates are phrases or sentences you can insert in your
message (you may not need to type at all).
1. From the standby mode, enter the phone number.
2. Scroll to Send message and press Select.
