Controlling Roaming Charges Using
Call
Guard
In addition to the roaming icon, Call Guard alerts you when
roaming charges apply. This feature makes it easy to manage
your roaming charges by reminding you when you make or
receive roaming calls. It also requires you to take additional
steps before placing or answering a roaming call. These
additional steps are not required when you make or receive
calls while on the enhanced Sprint Nationwide PCS
Network.
To turn the Call Guard feature On or Off:
1. Press Menu, scroll to Settings, and press Select.
2. Scroll to Roaming and press Select.
3. Scroll to Call guard and press Select.
4. Highlight On or Off and press Select.
Note: Voice Dialing and Speed Dialing are not available when you are
roaming with Call Guard enabled.
To place a roaming call with Call Guard On:
1. From the standby mode, enter an 11-digit phone number
(1 + area code + number) .
2. Press . (The message “Roaming rate applies. Place call?”
is displayed.)
3. Press OK to place the call.
To answer a roaming call with Call Guard On:
1. To answer a roaming call (the message “Roam call” is
displayed.), press Answer. (The message “Roam rate applies.
Answer call?” is displayed.)
2. Press OK to accept the call.
Remember if the Call Guard feature is set to On, you need to
take extra steps to make and receive roaming calls even if you
have selected the Analog setting.
