Windscreen for Blumlein Setups
WB
The WB is su i ta ble for CMC or CMD 2U mi cro pho nes
with UMS 20, as well as KC Active Cables with MK
capsules or CCM compact mi cro pho nes, in a Blum lein
ar ran ge ment (two cros sed figure-8 mi cro pho nes) and
M/S arrangements using an MK 8 (figure-8) and an
MK 4V (cardioid) or MK 41V (supercardioid) or the
corresponding CCM microphones.

Windscreen
WMS
– close-speech guard and windscreen for M/S stereo
This winds creen has a gray po rous vel vet-li ke sur fa ce
tre at ment. It is de si gned so that con ven tio nal M/S set -
ups (AMS 22, UMS 20) as well as most mi ni a ture mi cro-
pho ne ar ran gements for M/S (RCY, SGMSC, HSGMSC)
and also the X/Y microphone CMXY can be pro tec ted
from mild wind.
For its small di men sions, the WMS of fers re mar ka ble
ef fecti ve ness with relatively little adverse effect on the
sound quality.

Hollow Foam Ball W 5 D
– for use on pressure-gradient and pressure transduc-
ers in wind.
The foam encloses an air chamber around the capsule,
similar to a basket windscreen. It is highly effective, yet
it has only a slight influence on the sound.
When using CCM _L compact microphone, ple a se
be ca re ful to pla ce the W 5 D all the way on to it.
The W 5 D cannot be used with the KC Active Cable,
CCM _U compact microphones and microphone cap-
sules for lateral pickup (MK 6, MK 4V, MK 41V,
MK 4VXS, or MK 8), or the corresponding CCM com-
pact micro phones.
