Step Probable Cause Remedy
5 Heater contactor or coil defective. Replace contactor or coil IAW 3-10b(11)(b).
If fault is not corrected proceed to step f (2).
(2) Will not initiate defrost manually.
Step Probable Cause Remedy
1 Manual defrost switch defective. Check for defective manual defrost switch
IAW 3-10b(11)(c).
If necessary, replace manual defrost switch
IAW 3-10b(11)(c)1.
If fault is not corrected proceed to step 2.
2 Defrost temperature sensor open. Check for defective defrost temperature
probe IAW 3-10b(11)(d).
If necessary, replace defrost temperature
sensor IAW 3-10b(11)(d)1.
If fault is not corrected proceed to step f (3).
(3) Initiates but relay (DR) drops out.
Step Probable Cause Remedy
1 Low line voltage. Check line voltage IAW wiring diagram.
If fault is not corrected proceed to step f (4).
(4) Initiates but does not defrost.
Step Probable Cause Remedy
1 Heater contactor or coil defective. Replace contactor or coil IAW 3-10b(11)(b).
If fault is not corrected proceed to step 2.
2 Heater(s) burned out. Refer to section 3-10b(11).
If fault is not corrected proceed to step 3.
3 Frequent Defrost: Wet load. Normal.
