(d) Expansion valve installation. To install the expansion valve perform the following:

Braze inlet connection to inlet line (Figure 3-11).

Braze outlet connection to outlet line.

Braze the equalizer connection to the equalizer line.

Reinstall the cushion clamp.

Thread the thermal bulb through the opening above the evaporator coil (refer to
Figure 2-2), and slide it under the strap and secure the thumb screw. Close the
insulation flap. Reinstall bulb access panel.

Check superheat.
(e) Equalizer Line Cleaning. This maintenance procedure does not exist in the commercial
manual. It is to be developed at a later date.
(11) Evaporator Coil and Heater Assembly.
NOTE
The evaporator section, including the coil, should be cleaned regularly. The preferred
cleaning fluid is soapy water or steam. The drain pan hose is routed behind the
condenser fan motor and compressor. The drain pan line must be open to ensure
adequate drainage.
(a) Evaporator coil removal. To remove the evaporator coil, perform the following steps:

Pump unit down (refer to Pumping the unit down paragraph 3-10b(2)(d)).

With power OFF and power plug removed, remove the screws securing the panel
covering the evaporator section (upper panel).

Disconnect the defrost heater wiring.
4
Disconnect the defrost temperature sensor (Figure 2-2) from the coil.
5
Remove middle coil support.
6
Remove the mounting hardware from the coil.
