Taking measuremen m nts using Wa atchBP Hom me T Prior to each me easurement, use the Mode Switch on the right side of the e device to select the proper p measurementt mode. The two options include: «DIAG.» (Diagn nostic) or «USUAL» (U Usual) mode. «DIAG.» Mode e The «DIAG.» mode should be selected as requested by your doctor wh hen blood pressure iss measured in accordance with the measurement guidelines of the European Society of Hypertension (ESH H). DIIAG. DIAG.
No measuremen nts on non-work da ays Two sets of measu urements per day In «DIAG.» mode, blood pressure measurements are taken on 7 conse ecutive working da ays (or normal week days). No readings should be taken on «non-working» days (or particularly relaxing days) in this mode! ESH guidelines reco ommend one double e measurement taken in the mornin ng between 06:00 - 09 9:00 and one in the evening betwee en 18:00 - 21:00.
Taking measurements using WatcchBP Home T (cont..) Extended mea asurement period Evaluation WatchBP Home e T has an extended measurement period d and allows morning measurements between b 04:00 - 12:00 0 and evening me easurements between n 18:00 - 24:00. After measurem ments have been carrried out for a total of 7 working daays, take the device to o your doctor for evaluation of your y home blood pressure data.
«USUAL» Mod de 250 measurements safely stored The «USUAL» mo ode is selected for re egular blood pressure measure ement with Afib dete ection. In «USUAL» mode, One meassurement is taken. Th he results of the blood pressure iss displayed and, if atrial fibrillation is detected, the Afiib icon is displayed. The T readings are automatically sto ored for later evaluattion by your doctor. The WatchBP Home e T device can store up p to 250 measurement readings in «USUAL» mod de.
Eight ste eps for meassure blood pressure p pro operly Step 1 Step 2 Avoid taking measurements m directlyy after eating, drinking or smo oking. Allow at least one hour between these activities and measurement off your blood pressure.. Prepare a chair an nd table for the measurement. The chair should have e a vertical back-rest and the table should allow your upper arm to rest at the t same height as your heart.
Step 3 Step 4 Remove all clothiing covering or constrricting the arm to be measured. Apply the cuff. Make surre the lower edge nner fold of your of the cuff is exacctly 2–3cm from the in arm. The tube con nnecting the cuff to th he device should be placed on the e inside of the arm. Special Function F Atrial fibrilllation detection This device is de esigned to screen for atrial fibrillation during blood prressure measurements. If atrial fibrillation is detected durin ng blood pressure measurement, the Afib ico on is displayed. fibrillation, a major cause of stroke can c be detected by * Atrial this device. Howev ever, not all risk factors for fo stroke, including atrial flutter, mayy be detected by this device. de Wiesel,l, et al.
About Atrial Fibrillation Atrial fibrillation is a common heart rhythm r problem and a common cause c of major stroke es. It affects more than 2 million pe eople in North Ameriica. It is more common in old age a and found in 10% % of people over 80 years old. About 20% of all stroke es are caused by atrial fibrillation.. The elderly, or those with high blood pressure, diabete es or heart disease are a more likely to get a stroke if th hey have atrial fibrillaation.
Atrial Fibrillation Detector The Watch BP home T can screen for atrial fibrillation during blood pressure measurement. The device displays the Afib icon if atrial fibrillation is detected at the time of the blood pressure measurement. People with a history of atrial fibrillation may have atrial fibrillation on occasion or they may have it all the time. Using the device regularly can help people keep track of how often they are in atrial fibrillation.
Atrial fibrilla ation detection instructions i Information for the doctor • Use this device e regularly to keep trrack of the recurrence of atrial fibrillation. This device is designed to detect atrial fibrillation for patients previoussly diagnosed with atrial a fibrillation. Though it is prog grammed to specifica ally detect atrial fibrillation, frequ uent premature beatss, marked sinus arrhythmia or other rhythm abnorma alities might cause false positive reaadings.
