Commands to the module is first sent with a keyword followed by an optional parame-
ter. Spaces are not allowed to use as parameters. The commands are case sensitive.
Use a $ to indicate a space (For example, MY NETWORK must be written as MY$NET-
WORK). Additionally, short form for the parameters can be used. For example, the
following commands are equivalent:
The RN131/171 module supports a variety of command keywords. The WiFly Com-

the Microchip web site http://www.microchip.com provides a complete command of
references.
For evaluation purposes, view the current settings using the get command; get
everything to shows all parameters. Tab l e 2- 1 shows an additional parameters that
can be used with set and get commands.

2.4.3.3 FIND AVAILABLE NETWORKS
In Command mode, instruct the RN131/171 module to search for the available networks.
By typing scan <cr> in the terminal emulator a list of Wi-Fi networks within the radio range
can be viewed. Figure 2-6 shows the scanned network/access points.
